Warri City Stadium- A world class project!
A closer look at the work going on at the brand new Warri Wolves home
The ongoing construction of the Warri City Stadium is making significant progress, with key facilities taking shape as the project moves steadily towards completion.
Speaking during an interview, Engr. Lanre Adeleke, Managing Director of Peculiar Ultimate Concerns Ltd (PUCL), provided an encouraging update on the development, highlighting the quality of the stadium’s playing surface, athletics track and plans for long-term maintenance.
A major highlight of the project is the natural grass pitch, which Adeleke described as being of an exceptionally high standard. According to him, the quality of the natural turf is equal to or better than playing surfaces found anywhere in the world, underscoring the attention being given to the stadium’s sporting facilities.
The stadium’s tartan athletics track is also progressing well. Adeleke explained that the necessary base work has been completed, with the final laying of the track scheduled for the latter part of the construction project.
Beyond the physical development of the stadium, the project is also placing strong emphasis on sustainability and proper maintenance. Adeleke highlighted plans to establish a maintenance culture that will ensure the facilities remain in excellent condition long after construction is completed.
The developments represent an exciting milestone for Warri and Delta State, with the completed stadium expected to provide a modern sporting facility capable of supporting football, athletics and other major sporting activities.
With the pitch, athletics infrastructure and maintenance plans all receiving significant attention, the Warri City Stadium project continues to generate optimism as work progresses towards completion.
A new sporting landmark is taking shape in Warri. 🏟️💚
